I have 2011 F150 5.0 and i was looking at doing a muffler swap, I was Looking at the 14 inch magnaflow muffler to swap in but im concerned i will not acheive the sound i am looking for with the resonator in the system, does the resonator really make a differnce in noise, i want a deep rich sounding exhaust just like the one in this video but with a single exit

 

Yes, the sound volume will be greater without the resonator.

 

It depends on HOW MUCH sound you can handle. Yes, removing the resonator will make a noticeable change in loudness, but once again--only you know how loud is TOO loud.

 

Here is a good option I used on my single setup. You can do and undo this yourself.http://www.f150forum.com/f38/2011-12...151041/index7/ It takes about 20 minutes and you can order the pipe from ford or http://www.tascaparts.com/parts/2010...t=FRONT%20PIPE. That way if its too loud you dont have to pay for cutting and welding on the midpipe and it stays factory stainless.
