... what has to be removed
... cant even get to the plug

... the parts store keeps sending the wrong parts
... mine were green ...these are gray with two plastic guides
... do I trim out a tab ... do I swop the plastic ends (? wiring pattern the same)

Very hard to get that wrong. 97-03 run the same O2's front and back. Part numbers can distinguish up or downstream, but either will work where-ever.

Other than that, different part numbers = different harness lengths.

Yes, you may have to shave a **** off the connector if necessary. No biggy, the connector will still lock and seal.

Pass-side is a little bit of a challenge. You can still do it with just a 7/8 wrench. Harbor freight sells the Ford O2 socket for 3 bucks or so. Well, they use to anyway.

Keep at it, you'll get it.
