flames out of the exhaust (update)

a month ago i posted a thread asking help on making flames come out of my buddy's exhaust pipes on his truck. well we finally did it! for anyone who wants to try it this is how we did it: first you need to get a ford Model A coil and a spark plug for each tailpipe. the truck was carburated so we ran the mixture a little rich and removed the cats. we ran a wire from the truck's coil to a toggle switch then to the model A coil. ran another line from the model A coil negative side to a ground point, then from the model A output to the spark plug. it works great, we get a steady blue/orange flame about 8 inches long that lasts about 2 seconds. thanks to everyone that helped us out on this one, ill get some pictures up as soon as i can.

Thumbs up

I went to an antique car parade last night and one guy in a '57 Chev Hard Top made flames shoot out of his dual exhausts about two feet!! After dark, it was really something to see! I stopped the guy at a stop light later and asked how he did it and he said
with spark plugs and raw gas. I didn't get to ask him any more about it but the raw gas might be a little bit dangerous and hard to do. Wish I could have asked more but we were in heavy traffic. It looked really trick.
