Vortec Muffler ???

I just replaced my Flowmaster muffler, because I was not happy with the sound. Too quiet. I went with 3inch pipes Vortec muffler
and 22inches long chrome tipes 4inch oval.
Dual exhaust coming out from rear under my trail hitch
Incredible sound My Expy has finally woken up ? It sounds like a mustang on steroids. It might be too loud, but I love it. This is what I was looking for.

I have friends who have tired Gibson, MagnaFlow, Borla, Flowmaster and B&B. They all do not come close.

I turn many heads know and set off car alarms.

Does anyoone else have this muffler ???

It is called VORTEX not VORTEC.

I had installed at my local Meineke Muffler shop in NJ.
This local Meineke place does all the FORD's for All American Ford Dealer.
He does incredible work. It looks like it was done by the factory.

The sound is awesome alot rubble and performance.

I hope there is a local Meineke shop where you live ?

If not you can always call the main office and have it sent to you and then have your local place do it.

good luck

I love the sound. Someone told me that is the way a FORD should sound. Alot of rumble deep mellow tone. Like a mustang
on steroids. HAHA

As far as the cabin noise it is not too bad. It is also a matter of opinion. I also went to 22inch chrome tips they have 4inch oval cut to them. I am tell you it makes my EXPY look the means around Northern NJ. At least from what I have seen.

I think you will be very happy and if it gets too loud in the cabin you can always turn up the radio.

I will be posting picture of my truck very soon.

I know what you mean, my Gibson Supertruck sounds awsome, but it's just not loud enough.

Thumbs up

The VorteX muffler is an awesome muffler for sound. It's made by Cherry Bomb. I had SI/DO installed my an old Cheby of mine and it really rumbled!!

I believe MEINEKE mufflers installs them!

Hey Kruck

I have the VORTEC as well and I love the rubbling sound.

What kind of tips did you get ?

How did it cost you ? Are you running DUAL through the rear ?

Hey BIGREDEXPY,

I had single in/dual out muffler. I was 3inches all the way back, duals on each side of the hitch. It also had chrome tips, they were about 18 inches long... Looked and sounded great, especially after I put in a new 350HO motor. But some bozo tried to drive under me one morning and totaled it.

I bought an F150 to replace it and immediately upgraded the exhaust to a Borla. It's definately not as loud as the vortex was, but... what the heck, it still sounds good!!
