Manifold Band Aid

My manifold studs are rusted in half an the pipe is separating from the mainfold an sounds like crap. As i posted in another thread in the 97-03 section I am gonna put longtubes an high flow cats on it but right now Im smack dab in the middle of gettin a loan to buy 12 acres of land an put a pole barn on it to live in, so I aint really got the extra cash to stick 800-1000 bucks in my truck till this is all done. Is there anything I can do to temporarily fix the leak till i can get the headers done? I hate leaks an this horrid sound is embarrassin drivin through town!

The only option you have is replacement.

I found a fix for it. I took a dremel tool an cut the remainder of the stud off the manifold then cut the head off of a bolt and welded it to the manifold and put on nut on it to pull the pipe back up to the manifold. Fixed the leak an sounds/runs alot better! Took bout half hour to fix and the cost of the bolt, washer, and nut.
