2008 F150 5.4 Air Aid Problem

First gotta say this site is pretty good. Ok, i have a problem with my Air Aid cold air intake for my 2008 F150 w 5.4 The truck ran and shifted perfect before the cold air intake FYI. Anyway, first i disconnected the neg bat cable, took off the large piece from the air box to the fender well (kinda looks like a guitar in a way) disconnected the mass air flow (and cleaned it with CRC MAF Cleaner) and that vaccum lookin hose on the passenger side of the air box. Install the Air Aid, first i thought wow this is awesome. Then i come up to a light, take off, no problem then i get a wierd "tranny slip" from 20mph to 30mph. Light throttle at that. Then i was getting on to the highway, at 30mph i stomped the gas WOT and the truck revved up and slammed into gear. Right then and there i said no thanks. Put the factory stuff back on and the truck is once again a champ. My money says that all that extra airflow has threw off the MAF and made it do wierd things? I called Air Aid and they said i needed to drive the truck more to let the computer adjust to the new intake but in the mean time slippin and slammin into and out of gear right? Do i need a tuner or have a custom tune? Just for grins the other night on a back road with the factory intake on i removed the big piece from the box to the fender well, drove it 100 yards and same thing all over again. Plus whats up with the trucks running lean from the factory? Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks
