Cold Air Intake for 2012 5.0

Newby to the Forum...
Just bought a 2012 FX4 with the 5.0L and this past weekend had a leveling kit wheels and some 305-55-20 Nitto Terra Grapplers put on it. I am thinking about putting a cold air intake system on it as well to compensate for the larger tires and give me a little more power and possibly better gas mileage. Would a cold air intake system help me out at all and if so which one would you recommend?

^^^yep. Unless you have a tune that recognizes the change in air capability, you will see little improvement. Check with 5 Star tuning for a CAI and tuning. You also need to get a tuner to change the height of your tires so the speedometer will be accurate.

I would go with 5 Star tuning and they use SCT products. If PHP has programs ready for the 2012, they are very good and use the Gryphon units.

Programmer plus CAI still = minimal power increase.

To compensate for larger tires, you need to re-gear.

Actually equals+ No Power Increase per Testland Corp.........
Recently, Testand Corporation conducted an ISO standards test on automotive air filters which can be viewed at this link: http://www.dieselbombers.com/chevrol...r-testing.html.

^ And all that amounts to very minimal gains in the real world.
