How does it allow more air that cai kit, i have a volant and its a sealed box pulling from the same place as the stock one , but much bigger diameter tub then stock. Also the stock one has a flex elbow that has a ton of rideges that disrupts the air flow as a cold air intake kit has a smooth bend no bumps. I have a 08 with volant for several years now and never had any issues or running lean.
