How much more MPG will I get with a cool air intake?
factory 31" tire going up to a 35" tire, your truck reads 88.5% of what you're actually traveling. so if your truck said you went 200 miles you actually went 223 miles. So your 11.7 MPGs is actually 13.04MPGs. There thats 1.5 MPG gain just by correcting your mileage.
Formula for your example:
Mileage x 1.115 = correct
Formula for your example:
Mileage x 1.115 = correct

If more mileage is more important than keeping your current setup, you might compromise a little. Maybe a smaller lift (or even just a leveling kit) with 33" tires? That's still a nice, aggressive stance, and in my opinion, is just more practical all around.
Anyway...that's my .02.....good luck!

Back to the original question - an aftermarket intake is a HOT air intake, not a cool air intake. The air under the hood is warmer than the air in the fenderwell, where the stock intake draws its air from. Unless you have a bunch of complementary mods, an aftermarket intake does nothing for you except make more noise and look cool. The stock intake can pass more than enough air for any stock or somewhat close to stock motor.
