New IACV issue

Hi,

I just installed a new IACV on my 2001 F150 (4.6L) and now it seems that it is blowing air back out of the intake tube ( I blew cigg. smoke over it to be sure it was pushing instead of pulling and it was. I am going to double check the gasket, but does anyone have any ideas? I found some posts online about it sounding like a cow...and they hit it on the nose. The owner before me drilled holes in the air filter box. I saw a post about a mustang blowing back out...and it was because it was on backwards...this cant be on backwards, it only fits one way because of the little plate thing under the windshield. I am going to drive it and see if it acts the fool. (while I constantly pray I don't blow up anything.)

Thanks.

It seems to be running better than it was. Seems like it has a lot more power. I changed the old one because when I moved from D to R, or R to D it was rev up and down up and down until I gave it some gas. It only did once in a while, it hasn't done it so far.
