Exhaust and Air intake questions!

i bought my self a new truck a 2008 f150 fx4. its completely stock and i dont like that.. so i am thinking of some mods but not sure what to go with. i am thinking gibson duals? anyone have them? how do they sound compared to other duals? i want a real deep, loud, sound with out spending $1000. (im in alberta canada btw) and i know everyone is going to tell me for an air intake to do a gotts mod but i like the sound of a nice exhaust system with the cold air intake. i have been trying to find some info about the volant cold air intakes, i heard they do something different with the filter or something? do they still take air from the fender? but what cai do you guys think would be best on my truck? i will also be getting a edge evolution before i do any exhaust or intake mods

well if anyone or everyone has some answers for me or any better suggetions that would be awesome. would like to hear your experiences with different set ups!! thanks everyone

The Volant kit does take air from the stock location. With the Volant you have the option of choosing between a dry filter or oiled filter. The dry filter cost more. The Volant CAI is about $300 US if you didn't know that already.

With the exhaust you will save money by buying all the parts and having an exhaust shop weld it up for you. This gives you the option to customize your exhaust.

I doubt you would ever need to replace it. Maybe you can clean them, I'm not sure?

i have to volant powercore(dry filter) now n i like it only had it on bout a month.....installion was a serious PITA! the filter box doesnt quite fit perfectly. yes it draws from the fender still. I had the gibson extreme dual exhaust cat-back system on my 4.2L(v-6) and it sounded ok wasnt nearly deep or lound enough, but it would be louder and deeper on a v-8 as opposed to the v-6. it was ultimately a good soundin exhaust, with noticable power increase.

Gotts intake mod, and anything Borla for the exhaust. Check out YouTube to see what exhaust systems strike your interest. Also read the exhaust sticky.
