Reduction in Exhaust Size

The exhaust pipe on the 5.0s seems to be bigger than on previous engines. If going to do a SI/DO muffler, what would be the negatives to using a 2.25" intake, which is slightly less than the stock pipe?

Reduced exhaust velocity, and possibility a loss in low end torque to some degree.

Do it right and keep it all the same size.

And it's called an inlet. An intake is under the hood.

Agreed. Keep it 2.5" since you're doing a SI/DO. It will sound a little deeper with 2.5" too if you consider that a good thing
