Who makes black tips?

I'm looking for 5" black tips that are for 2.5" pipes. The closest I've found is 4" made by Jones Exhaust. Does anybody know where I can get 5" tips for 2.5" pipes?

do you want black chrome or a painted finnish. if you want a painted finnish you could just get some powder coated or use a high temp/header paint. plus if you use header or high heat paint you can always repaint when they start to look like crap.

I just want flat black. Would that header paint hold up to having rocks and mud slung on it?

I just painted my stainless steel ones. They were always discolored and I got tired of polishing them. I just used some flat black Tremclad I had laying around and so far so good. I figure even if I have to repaint them once a year I will be putting in less time than all the polishing I used to do.

What exactly is Tremclad? Is it better than high temp spray paint?

Tremclad is just an oil based rust paint. They do make high temp paint but that is not what I used. My tips go to the back bumper and never get hot enough to require high temp paint IMO.

I'm going to have mine at the rear bumper too. What kind of paint would be the most durable? They're going to be getting hit with mud and rocks a pretty good bit. You're probably right, I doubt they get hot enough to require high temp paint

Does it seem chip resistant? They will be getting hit with rocks and mud

like i said ive had them painted for about 4 mouths and they have seen a bit of mud and rocks. i don't have mud flaps and it's holding up pretty good and you can always repaint when they get bad. the vht stuff is pretty tuff when cured properly it has a ceramic base. i would recommend doing them off the vehicle in the oven. here is there web site http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/flameproof/

Just painted my tip that I will be getting put on Friday with flat black high temp paint. We shall see how it holds up. Only 40 into it with tip and paint, so a much cheaper alternative to the ones that u can buy that are black. Just sanded it down and painted.

I've looked at theirs. WAY more than I'm willing to spend. to get 5" ones I would be spending close to $300 for 2
