OBX LT's kit with Cats Vs Resonators

I've been trying to decide between the OBX LT setup that comes with the Cat Converters and y pipe and the setup that comes with the Resonators and y pipe.

Sparktec has the resonator setup for $475 and the cat'd setup for $695. I'd really like the cat's just because I hate the smell of running no cat's. Are the Cat's that the setup comes with worth the extra $220 for them? Or should I just go with the resonator setup? Thanks.

You'll throw codes with the catted version. I did. Better off just getting the non catted version and having real cats welded in if that's how you want to go.

why does the cat'd version throw codes? I'm not really concerned about it as I'll probably have the tuner turn off the rear o2 sensors.

I don't really want to have to weld in different cats. If I did that, then I would only get the headers and do a complete custom exhaust with an x-pipe and all... But I'd rather just do the bolt on thing right now.

I'm more concerned over if the cat's that the system comes with are worth the extra $220 and will get rid of the smell, or if I'm gonna get the same thing going with the resonator setup.

I got the OBX setup with resonators, purchsed 2 Magnaflow 9" bodied cats ($120 shipped) and replaced the resonators (also 9" long). I also have metal chop saw, grinders and a decent welder.....so aside from my own time, this was the cheaper/better route to go (IMO).

That's actually a really good idea. I have all the tools to do it and rather than use my MIG, I'd probably use my buddy's TIG. Thanks

The cats are tiny. That's why they throw codes. Save some money and get the resonated kit.

OBX does do a good job on their fit and finish, but in all reality they're still a knock off brand. OBX cats can't be all that great, but Magnaflows or some other reputable company would be an improvement.

The collector bolts OBX uses are junk too. I had one fracture in less than a week so I picked up some grade 8 bolts for the collectors.

I had no info (on this site) on the catted OBX kit to go by so I went with them thinking they would be OK. I was wrong, but everything is good.
