go and get yourself a can of AIR INTAKE CLEANER and start spraying around everything you took off to do the mod and listen to see if you hear the truck rev up a little bit.

none if you have a vacuum leak. The spray will get sucked into the engine and your idle will raise if you have a vacuum leak.

Did you try cleaning the MAF sensor?

Mine was dirty and my truck would idle funny and sound like it was going to die. I cleaned my MAF sensor and TB and it fixed it right up. Just another suggestion to try.

my MAF looks very clean. is the air filter housing supposed to have a small weephole in the bottom?

does anyone have a picture of their air filter housing? I want to see if my weephole is missing something that would keep air from being sucked in.

I went out and looked at my Expy (4.6) and yes there is a weep hole in the air cleaner side of the air box. It's about the size you said in your PM, so that should not be an issue.

BTW any luck yet?

The MAF sensor is pretty sensitive. It can look clean but have a residue on it that will affect it's readings. You can buy a can of MAF cleaner for around $5. Just pull it out of your truck and give it a good spray down. I probably wasted a bunch of the cleaner because I gave it a good soaking several times, but at least I knew it was clean when I was done.

No offense, but some people just shouldn't mess around under the hood of their vehicle. You are one of those people.

you dont have to be an ***. this is how im learning. im only 19.
maybe if you would spend your time helping "people like me" instead of telling them not to even look under their hood they would get better.

and seeing as how you only have 4 posts I dont think you have read many of my threads or posts or know much about me so dont judge. I know my fair share of automotive tricks and procedures.

You're right. My post count directly reflects my knowledge. Thank you for pointing that out.
You know your fair share of tricks and procedures, yet you have no clue how to clean the MAF? Poor truck.

Your 2006 has electronic throttle body.
The code refers to an issue with that part's function.
Remove the plugup and reinsert it to be sure you did not hit the plug when working on your mod.
If you don't find anything, it's dealer time and they will not look favorably on your intake mod.
Sometimes air mods on these later trucks has been known to upset the AIR/ FUEL ratio and cause lean codes.
What were you looking for with that mod?
Good luck.
