It was recommended by my 4x4 shop. I love it, just loud enough and sounds great at low speeds. just put a K&N CAI on and it sounds awesome when i get on it now.
Does it drone really bad at all? My Magnaflow kit is awful. Doesn't even sound all that great because all you hear is the drone.

Might want to think about a custom tune for that cai especially when there's a slot style maf involved......
Sounds good man! I wanted to do the MBRP dual kit for my Ecoboost because I love MBRP products! (Dad had them on his Duramax and I had them on my 07 powerstroke) but I can't find anyone who has installed it yet so I could hear what it sounds like and I don't want to be the guinea pig

I was thinking about the Magnaflow kit for my 2010 but not if there is any drone. I want some sound but not the drone, too many highway miles.
The OEM software system is designed to adjust the fuel mixture up to 10%.......that’s more than enough to handle fuel mixture adjustments up to 7,000 foot elevation change! (for high elevations 8,000+ there are oem software programs for those specific applications) The 5.4 V8 for example if close to stock can only suck in a maximum of 480 cfm and a flat panel filter will flow 500 cfm, there is simply no way any CAI on a relatively stock engine can increase the air flow enough to exceed the ECM’s ability to adjust and maintain the correct fuel mixture. The only reason for the “custom” program to support the CAI is because the design is poor resulting in false readings from the air intake sensors, etc
at first, the engine sounded weird when first installed, but i think the enigne adjusted to it, now it has a nice sound to it. I rather not play around with those tunes. Im more than happy with the performance of this truck as is.
thanks Nick
