Flowmaster Super40 to Straight Pipe

I am SO much happier with it. It is deeper and louder than the 40. There is not as much crackle and pop in it either. The 40 was a SI/DO. I just had the shop install a straight pipe put in with a Y to feed my pipes out the rear. There is hardly any drone in the cab now! I was so surprised!!

Overall I am much happier with the sound. I was going to go with a magnapack, but I simply could not stand the Drone in the Cab any more. I will still probably go with a pack in the feature.

If your on the fence about scrappin the blowmaster, DO IT!
Just thought I'd give my .02.

I have a 3 inch si/so flowmaster and it doesn't crackle at all. Not sure what exactly this drone everyone speaks of sounds like, but mine isn't loud when cruising, but can be heard pretty good when I get on it. The muffler is near the rear axle and I have a screw with 6.5 foot bed, so the muffler isn't real close to the cab. This is the third truck I have had with flowmaster and I haven't experienced these negatives. Maybe I'm just not as picky. Just want my truck to sound like a truck and it does.

It seams that us Flomaster users are a rare breed on this site.

You've got that right! They are the best sounding muffler IMO. Sound amazing on my big block. If I ever change out the 40s I have now I'd get the super 10.

I had a Super 44 on my 01 And was pleased with the sound of the 5.4. The "new-to-me" truck had a Super 40 on it when I bought it. I have not really been happy with it. I had to talk myself into doing it. lol. But Currently I am glad I did. Like I said. Maybe in the feature I'll put a pack on it.

Just stating the fact that everybody's explanation of "drone", varies significantly.

While this is very true. and also Greatly depends on the truck and pipe set up.

Yes. It is just pipe that runs to a Y then out the rear.
Exhaust Manifold-Stock Cats-Pipe-Y-Duals out the back.
I can take a pic in the morning to show you if you would like.
