Rotting hole in muffler means a new exhaust!
Rotting hole in muffler means a new exhaust!
Ok a rotting hole in my OEM muffler means that my retro HIDs have to wait! So I need some confirmation as to the correct components for my new exhaust. My needs are as follows: I tow a few times a year but my real concern is cab drone in my screw as I have two small kids.
I want to replace my y-pipe and think the correct part is Maggie # 10778 (dual 2.5 to 3). Muffler will probably be the Maggie 12588 5x11x22 (3inx2.5 dual out) with custom pipe out each corner.
Can someone confirm that I will need custom pipe routed from the y-pipe to the muffler and need a bung welded for an O2? Is this right..and only one O2 is located there? Next is the muffler. Is this size too conservative? I want it to roar when I jump on it, and a little rumble is great, but it cannot be too loud and of course the drone will drive the family crazy on road trips. Any thoughts before I order my stuff?
Thanks in advance for any tips!

Thanks guys...so an 18" muffler will be safe against the drone? And 3" inlet to dual 2.5" is good to go? Thanks again, I've been wanting a new exhaust since I brought her home in '05!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
22" is a little deeper tone than stock. 18" with have a nice mellow rumble.
I had an 18" side exit a while back.

Thanks for the responses so far. I will look into an 18" muffler as I don't want it too stockish.
On the Maggie site I see 12288 which is 5x8x18:
Maggie 12288
Any other recommendations?
Thanks again

Checking out from Performance Peddler now...
Prices here are incredible and include shipping!
EDIT: So I went with the y-pipe, 12288 5x8x18 muffler and two 10" rolled tips for $265.00 shipped. Their "best offer" deal is great and their prices are the lowest I was able to find...by a lot. Thanks for the lead on these guys.
