Bigger tips make a difference?

As some have read i installed SIDO MBRP system last weekend.

It sounds good, but I want it a bit louder..The tailpipes are 2.5 inches.

The pipes that came with it are 3 inch OD (maybe 10 or 12 inches long).

Will getting a 4 inch OD tip make the sound louder?

I have read length makes a difference too, but I assume I'd need to cut the pipes back a bit to allow for longer tips (If i dont want them sticking out way past the bumper).

4" will be a touch louder than 3", but nothing to really be happy with. Install some high flow cats.

PS Dont you have resonators on your '10 that a lot of guys remove? Look into that.

I don't think it does. I never saw one. Mbrp is sending me a y pipe to bypass the muffler. I know it won't sound as mellow but I like louder exhausts.

So...you spent the few hundred bucks on the kit, which is the same size as OEM, only go to straight pipe. You only gained the dual outlet part. My suggestion would be to keep the muffler on and put magnaflow 94106 high flow cats on. Still not loud enough, put a small bodied muffler like a magnapack or bullet on. Straight pipe is weak.

Well I never bought the kit. I went to 3 local places and was quoted atleast $500 to do it. But one place said it would be $100 to cut the rear cats and straight pipe. So I did. There are no emissions checks here. I like it and that's all I care about. Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one.

im running no cats at all and put cutouts before the muffler cause true straight pipes are wayyyy to loud to drive through town. whenever i wanna have fun or go to a show i run open headers
