The muffler shop near my house said that he would do a new exhaust system (SI/DO, with custom pipes and chorme tips) for $290. Good price? He was the lowest. He also said they put Vortex mufflers in all the trucks. Are they good mufflers? Thanks

 

Hmmm....I'd go with the Flowmasters. Got my 40 series SI/DO with pipes and tips for $250 installed. Haven't heard anything about the Vortex.

 

Hey, I have a Vortex Muffler on my Dakota SO/SO, it ha a nice thoughty sound, a good muffler with a fairly substantial 25 year warrentee, My buddy has SO/DO on his Silverado, great sound, nice and throughty when he takes off and you hardly have any drone in the cab at highway speeds. I think you will like them.
