Magnaflow muffler casing cracks?

I am just curious about something I was told by two different exhaust shops. Both say they refuse to sell Magnaflow mufflers due to after "some time" the casings crack, and were junk. Anybody else been told this? I ran a Magnaflow catback on a Mustang I had, and have a Magnaflow muffler on my SCREW, so I hope maybe it was just a design problem from years ago that has since been corrected.

Just wondering, since Magnaflows are pretty dominant on this site.

That might have been the case when they first came out, but I have not heard of a single case of them cracking or malfunctioning since I joined back in mid 2008.

I tend to think the same, which sucks for the shops that think this way seeing how popular Magnaflow is they are losing good business in my opinion.

They may have had a welding problem or something for a short time, but I wouldn't worry about it. I would recommend a Magnaflow over and over...

After a Borla that is!
