Gotts Mod Question

Hey,

I know what you guys are thinking, "Just search". It comes down to this, I did search and i understand completely how to do it. I am just confused on one thing.

First off I will give you some stats:
2005 4.6 STX 4x4
I do not have a tune and most likely will not have one in the near future

So my question is:

Will doing the Gotts mod cause my truck to run too lean? Should i stay away from the Gotts mod or will it be ok?

The reason i ask is when i was searching i have found people that say it is okay to do and others say it will cause me to run to lean and cause damage.

Thanks,
Kevin

P.S. It feels good to finally get to post again on here. I have not had a need to because i found everything else by searching on this forum.

you do not have a three valve motor, so follow the write up for the two-valve motor (aka '97-'03) reset the ECM and you'll be fine

Thank you for the answer. I know the question was asked before but on several different threads i read both answers. Some of the threads i read were from early on in the NBS. So i wanted to see what the general answer is now.

Yea that makes sense. The conflicting answers i got were from threads that i got while searching not the technical articles.

So what's the bottom line from you "trusworthy" fellers. (I'm sure tarajerame won't even see this since he put me on his ignore list for asking a question about tuners that he deemed unworthy)

What actual gains are seen from doing this mod? Just upper rpm hp or is there some fuel savings involved as well?
