Exhaust swap- Magnaflow/Flowmaster44(video)
Ok, Im sure Ill catch some slack but I dont give a rats ***. My truck sounds way better and it didnt cost much.
History-
A couple years ago I was lucky enough to see that LPP http://lpparts.com/store/page10.html
needed a 5.4L F150 to mock up their new shorty headers and if they fit the person could keep them. By luck I lived 30min from him and guess what. It fit. So that is the only other item effecting sound as the cats are stock.
After the headers were installed I had a local muffler shop install a 14" magnaflow in place of the factory muffler and retain the factory pipe exit and location. I could care less about pipes as they will get bent when I off road.
Fast forward to today where I finally decided to do something about that weak *** sounding exhaust, I mean it sounded barely louder than stock. I wanted some rumble but dont care for the dual tip crap so what did I do?
I had the shop cut the factory pipe at the "Y" and run 2.5" pipe to a 2.5" flowmaster 44 and cut the outlet off and flush on the 44 so it opened it to 3" and then weld on a 4" monster looking downpipe to the body of the muffler and spray it all black.
The video doesnt do it justice. It sounds great, and my mean looking truck finally sounds like a truck and not a Honda ridgeline.
Updated with more footage at the end (3/7/2011)

Because this is a public forum where members can express their likes/dislikes of what others have done to their trucks.

I think I would rather take a better looking and better sounding truck over a marginally faster and terrible sounding truck. By a Mustang if you want fast.
