electric cut outs on a 2011 platinum

I have decided that I want to make my truck a bit more "mine" I guess and make some modifications. I have a 2011 F150 Platinum and I was thinking about some electric cut outs. I have looked at QTPs and some from Summit. I just want some opinions on my idea all together.

What? The Stig drives an F150?

So you want cutouts only on a stock system? That would be a first.

Please give us more information on your truck like engine and such.

Its just a stock f150 platinum with the 5.4ltr v8. I'm not car intelligent. But what would be wrong with putting them on stock exhaust?

What the hell is up with all these cut-out threads lately? And why the hell would the Stig drive an F150?

My opinion cutouts only sound good if you have a set of longtube headers on, otherwise I would describe the sound from stock manifold with cutouts being like a crazy loud pissed off lawnmower.

But some people like them even on stock manifolds, its all about personal preference. Why not look into a nice exhaust system that will have quality sound?

The only reason I asked was because a friend suggested it to me, he said it wouldn't be obnoxiously loud but it would have a deep rumble. I believe I was also told that it is what the Ford Raptor trucks come with. Not sure if that is true or not though.

First off, electric cut out's will be LOUD. If you just want a deep rumble then I would suggest a muffler swap or if funds allow, a full exhaust. And no, the Raptor does not come with them.

the raptor did have cut outs on the lingenfelter edition that tanner foust drove on top gear. that one was pretty moded though and im sure it had a full exhaust and headers.

to the OP- you prob wont like cut outs, just do a muffler swap and you will be much happier. you can get a flowmaster welded in place of your stock can for about $150 parts and labor at a local exhaust shop.

The 2011's don't had 5.4L in them anymore...

You sure your truck isn't a 2010?
