Too much drone

I have a Flowmaster 40 installed on my 07 Screw. It has two exhaust pipes that just go straight down. The interior drone at certain rpms is starting to kill me. Would I reduce the interior chamber noise if ran tailpipes out the back of my truck?

Yes. As will relocating the muffler aft if possible.

Be advised - Slows have a predilection towards droning - may wish to consider another muffler architecture - ( e.g. Maggie, Borla, etc).

So the Magnaflow won't drone as much or won't drone at all? I'm looking to put a SIDO system on but don't want any drone at all.

A Maggie will/may drone but at a different RPM range. It may still be overbearing between 1800 to 2000 RPM's unless you go with a large body muffler. Best of luck.

I just had the Magnaflow 14 inch part# 12198 installed on my 07 FX4 and it doesn't drone at all. It's not as loud as I want but I ran the tail pipes straight out the back and turned down behind the bumper with no tips cause I didn't want to see the exhaust but I'm gonna have 3 1/2 round by 18 inch long tips installed soon to see if it makes it alittle louder.
