Electric Cut Outs

So I am looking to get a set of electric cut outs for the truck. Originally the debate was manual vs. electric, but I just don't want to have to go udner the truck each time I want to open them up. Also, I won't have as many officer friends if I get electric.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows what brand is best to look at. I dont want to spend a fortune, but it the difference is $300 vs $400 for much better ones, I will buy the better ones. so does anyone know what brands are best?

I am also interested in this. Is there also a way to run exhaust through my Flowmaster dual in / dual out then divert it to a quiet single.

face palm theres a thread about this 3 or 4 threads down.

i had manual cut-outs i liked the fact they never leaked on me and i got a chance to look at stuff under my truck while i was under there.

The downside as you said Ford12508 is you cannot close them when ever you want. but ive had cops behide me with open headers and didnt pull me over. i think i just got lucky.

i just bought 20 dollar jegs cut-outs.

the E-cut outs are pricey!!! easily 100-400 EACH and they can leak.

Thats the thing, I dont want manual, which is why I am asking for BRANDS, not why I should get them.

And after yesterday, I have seen enough of my underside for a few weeks, my rear axle fell off.

i would never pay more than 20 bucks for cut-outs but thats because im cheap and if i want open headers ill lay under my truck lol.

I have the electric cutouts on my 64, it is probably the best thing I put on. Because the engine makes around 650 hp, has a pretty loapey cam and 2 inch headers, it sounds great. A stock exhaust manifold with no camming might sound good but not worth the time or money. Getting some longtubes would be a great improvement making it in my opinion worth while. If you do it, go electric.

What brand do you have on your 64, and as far as sound goes, I plan on doing the cut outs when I redo my exhaust with long tubes. I am thinking long tubes down to the cut outs. When they are closed, it will be a dual pipe system. The 2 stock cats, a X-Pipe, and then dual mufflers. This way I can have a nice quiet exhaust or a nice loud exhaust.

I had a buddy who had exhaust cut outs on his 04 hemi ram that sounded sweet with a big cam and long tubes. I thought about doing it too but not worth the money at this point. Keep us posted on your possible future install

Only problem with that is it will be behind the cats, thanks though

I'm not sure the brand off hand on my 64's, but it was a 3 lettered company, like MMR or something, I think they are from Summit too. Cost around $400 for the 2 3", but on that kind of engine, it sounds too good not to do it. Even the local O.P.P our provincial police didn't break my ***** for running around with them open at a car show.

That Patriot looks like it just adds back pressure. Seems to me if you ran with the baffle closed it would burn up the packing material. However burned out glass packs do sound good.

No help on the electric cut outs, I've always used block off plates on my Street Strip vehicles.
