I'm kinda diggin the second one with the washable/oil less filter. If you have one does it drone? Could you possibly make a video? Thanks for your help.
Good "Post-DST" Morning!
OK - I know, I know ... but ...
Hopefully those folks are also running a custom tune, because yer sure gonna need one, due to this:

So. $310 for this thing + $400 (and up) for the REQUIRED custom flash programmer to correct the now-pookered MAF TF), all for very little gain over Bill's free mod, and the OEM 12"x12" panel filter.
Intake manfacturer's marketing BS power gains should be taken with one of these:

The ROI on filter change savings alone is not that attractive.
If ya gots a hankerin' fer a washable oiless filter, just get an Amsoil EA-series drop-in and be happy.
Save yer dinero, sir. Invest in an SCT custom programmer from VMP, and just keep yer hood closed if ya can't stand to look at that homely OEM intake, which is, depite all appearances, performing in an exemplary manner, while staying very quiet and actually filtering the intake charge properly.
But - yer truck, yer money.
Oh - and my profound apologies for the Pontificating Thread-Crap - some opportunities just cannot be overlooked!
And above all - Welcome to the Site! I can safely be ignored, but that has no effect on my output

I was only looking after talking to Justin and asking what he would suggest other than the custom tunes for performance. "Just basic stuff, cai or modify the stock intake a little, exhaust, the tune makes the biggest all around difference on the trucks."
I've read enough from from the shadows to know that the CAI's arn't all that appreciated but hey I'm down for trying. I actually found those for $230 after some searching - heck the dry filter one doesn't even show on AFE's site if you search normally. I found the part number on a different site. I am actually looking to get an SCT with VMP tunes but knowing that I would need new tunes to add a CAI I thought I should look first.
I've already taken the snorkel out. I may just do tunes and exhaust and be done...but even the exhaust seems more like a visual/audible decision as well as the performance doesn't seem to make much difference on these newer trucks.

meh...
i got a free intake a while back for my truck and i took it off in order to run the factory intake instead. i did the gotts mod to it instead and im happy. i also tow a 7k lb boat in the summer with the truck. the tunes are what make a big difference in drive-ability with the truck
