Exhaust Options/Questions
I've run two different Magnaflow cat backs, - never had a drone problem, - never heard of anyone that had one with Magnaflows personally, but that's mainly on the 2 Valve 5.4L's. I can say at cruising speeds their quite, no sound until you hit it, -even when pulling, so this is a first. Maybe it's a 3V thing ? If that's the case, it really sounds like Borla would be choice for the 3V.

For the most part..yes. I know the idle had to be programmed up when they were installed, but that can be done without custom tunes. Any transmission mods, however, will have to be written into the program code (or should be). Tires and gear ratio can be programmed by the owner. Guess what I'm saying some things that you do may effect a tune in some way, that's why I always thought it best to do the mods and then get the custom tunes.

The Corsa system I have on now is working quite well. To be fair with the Magnaflow systems, I am running Hi-Flow cats which may be affecting the drone situation I had to some degree. Then, there is the problem of clearance with the spare tire which I couldn't get correct no matter what I did.
Finally received my system today and got it installed this evening. I love it so far!! Drove it to vote this evening and hopped on the freeway for a quick drive. Didn't have any drone problems, thankfully. It is actually very quiet until you get on the throttle and get the rpms up around 3000. I did end up dropping the spare tire though. There was about 1/2" of clearance, which magnaflow claims is safe, but I felt more comfortable just removing the spare all together. Install was pretty simple and I had more trouble removing the stock system than I did installing the magnaflow system. The only other issue I had was that I couldn't get the tips to line up perfectly. They are barely off and probably only noticeable to me, but still bugs me. Overall I couldn't be happier with my decision, and I look forward to dropping some mpgs while romping on the new exhaust!!!
