LT's to single exhaust?

Ok...so, I already have a catback exhaust on my truck, and I'd really like to get some Pacesetter Ceramic Coated LT's. Only prob would be the Y-pipe. I don't want to get rid of the cat back system I already have.

Would it be adding insult to injury if from the headers I had the cats right after then a custom made Y-pipe to my single muffler then again out to dual exits? I've searched this site for someone who may have had a similar setup, but I can't really find one.

One last thing. Do they make a Y-pipe for 4WD's? Or is it just 2WD?

Thanks guys!

Pace Setter makes a 4WD Y-Pipe. Their Y-Pipe doen't have cats though. To custom make one would cost you a pretty penny

Oh, alright...I'll have to redo my research. I'll find some way to put them cats in.

I don't think its going to hurt to run L/T's into a Y pipe and then back out to dual after the muffler.

That said you likely are not going to notice as much power gain on a Y pipe as you would duals.

If you insist on a Y pipe, I would do maybe 3" from the cats back into the Y and then the muffler.

That might be bad advice though, I was going to do a 3" Y on my stock setup, but decided to just leave it alone.

I am sure some one here can set you straight.

2.5 inch exchaust from teh heders to the single 3 inch muffler will still perform well

I was going to go all 3" exhaust. The collector on headers are 3" and I was going to get a 3" Y-pipe to my 3" cat back. So.....all 3" :-)

Just from what I've read on the exhaust/LT header posts that have been made, running LTs to a single gives you a lot of torque where as LTs to duals adds more HP. Both are great and with tunes you can see fairly significant gains in power, not to mention you drop a couple pounds off the stock manifolds.

They sound AMAZING too!
