went from the gots to a spectre on my '00 5.4L and could tell very little difference, if any.
in my opinion, the spectre looks better than stock. and obviously has a different sound to it. but for the money, its not really worth..unless its being sold to you for super cheap..

had a spectre intake and sold it for 80 bucks and did the gotts mod and never looked back. Only thing with the spectre is the "cool" look when opening the hood

The Specter is a Warm Air Intake. The Gotts is a proper, yet cheap CAI.

My gotts mod sounds sorta like an CAI, just no annoying start up hiss.

No. that just makes it a $70 WAI, lol.

Aluminum as an intake tube material = Bad.

I've posted plenty on this intake - pehaps you need to search fer 'Sphincter' instead - you'll get hits then

Spectre (C)AI

I installed a BBK (C)AI on my '01 5.4L with a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler and a Superchips tuner and it made a world of difference from the Dynomax and Gott's Mod. It sounded really healthy at WOT. Almost as nice as my '68 Ranchero with a four barrel carb. I decided to check the temp of the polished tube on the BBK with the back of my hand during a hot summer day. In city driving it felt warm to the touch but not hot enough to burn the back of my hand. On a trip from AR to TX and back I checked the polished tube with the back of my hand and it was cool to the touch. I was completely amazed as it was 100* weather.

Try it if you like... It will not hurt anything and if you do not like it you can always sale it on Craigslist or Ebay.

James

put that $70 towards a tuning device and a custom tune or shift kit...
