Catalytic converter question.

I have True dual 2 1/2" piping goin into 2 12" glasspacks. I love the sound of them, but I want a little extra. I was thinking about putting in two Magnaflow hi-cats, and I was wondering, do the cats make that much of a difference in the sound, and will I lose a lot of back pressure?

40% volume difference replacing OEM cats with Magnaflow 94106. If thats not enough then Long tube headers and a cam will make you shake the earth.

Does anyone happen to know the thickness of the metal protecting the stuff in the cat?
