^ Ok, that is a short stroked high compression sport bike engine, not a 7000 pound pickup. Not only that, but you did not gain 6 hp because you installed a stainless exhaust over an aluminized exhaust.

you are entitled to your opinion av, they say ignorance is bliss, ever do back to back dyno runs going ffrom 93 octane pump gas then to vp u4 oxygenated fuel? you will see 6% gain everytime-and that's just from the fuel, unfortunately, i get a lot of slack as i'm a straight shooter and brutually honest, if i say i have something or done it- it's because i have,i have no reason to lie my friend, but like i said ,everyone has their opinion...

Yep. I can confirm that. OCP is no BS'er.

To the OP, have you had a chance to take some pics yet? I would be interested in doing the y-pipe mod to my truck as the next performance mod. I have a 14" magnaflow si/do system now.. wondering how much more umph i would achieve with a new less restrictive Y-pipe and my Gryphon custom tunes. Which brings up another question, maybe best answered by Bill and PHP.. would i need a differnent custom tune written after this mod? So many questions...

No tuning changes.

The mod is definitely worth it - I did this on my previous truck. A full-mandrel catback is largely wasted as long as that OEM abortion is upstream. A ragged ~1" hole does not make for optimum EG velocity .

The approach to this, and all other mods with performance in mind (not looks or a preferential 'sound'), is holistic.

Every little thing needs their (improvement) arrows pointing in the same direction; everything has a preferred order of installation; everything previously done needs to be an enabler to the next successive mod.

Little things perhaps, but they do add up if done correctly. And can make all the difference in terms of perf, efficiency, driveability and overall enjoyment.

I did take some pics but I can't get them up here for some reason. What do I have to do to post pics? Can't I just post them as attachments?

You need to put them on a remote viewing site, like photobucket, then link it back in your post.

MGD, i totally agree. The Magnaflow is a nice free-flowing muffler, but if it's all blocked upstream at the y-pipe, it doesn't do me much good..I might get some prices from a few shops to see what install cost would be..

I am saving for a wedding in December, so all my extra cash is going towards that. But if it's a small project, i can find some funding... hehehe.. plus, next month the truck will be paid off (finally), so more cash can go to the honeymoon.. St.Luica here we come.. i hope
