choosing best exhaust for my budget
choosing best exhaust for my budget
Hello everybody I have a 2001 4.6 screw that I would like to have an exhaust on by next week. My current plan is just doing one in and two out duel exhaust, I would really like true duals but that cost a lot more and Im on a budget. I liked the sound and price of the dynomax bullits and I think that will be my choice unless you guys know of anything better. I had a few questions about this and here they are.
Would the 12 inch or 18 inch bullits sound better?
I want it to sound the best it can so would a h or x pipe be better?
What are some good exhaust tips to use to make the sound deeper I am thinking about the magnaflow 18 inch tips?
Should I take the stock muffler out or leave it in?
I want to take two of the cats out will it sound better then?
Thank you for any help this will be my first exhaust and Im still learning any information would be great.

Oh my Jebus...
Alrighty then, Exhaust 1101 is now in SESSION!
You want a single in dual out muffler (SIDO). You don't need to worry about X-pipes or H-pipes. Only true duals have or need those.
You do not want to keep your stock muffler, ever. That defeats the purpose of doing any work to the exhaust system.
Yes, you can take the rear cats out and it will sound better with a better sounding muffler. There is a 50/50 chance that your truck with through a CEL.
I personally like the 12" Bullet more than the 18". It's louder and more aggressive because of the shorter case length.
Class dismissed

4.6 punisher, could you possibly make a thread on the magnapacks and bullets and see if we can have a MOD sticky it for Q & A's. seems alot of threads are showing up about them (including myself).
might really clean this section up?
