Borla xr1 tomorrow. Where to dump?

Hello all I finally decided on exhaust, magna flow x pipe, dyna tech high flow cats, 2.5" stainless into twin borla xr1 mufflers. It goes on tomorrow. I got the setup from whiteroush3 but I am not sure where to dump it and I want to do tips eventually. Here are my questions, how much does location affect sound? Also what's the affect from tips? Thinking the street legal roush tips, I really like whiteroushs sound but I wanna know if I can just dump them right behind the rear axle because I like that clean look from behind the truck. How much will this change the sound as opposed to dumping them both in front of the rear pass. tire?

Dumping it after the rear axle will be fine, just add some short tips to it to help project the sound.

Correct me if I'm wrong: you should place the mufflers where the bed starts and the cab ends to reduce drone. I noticed whiteroushs truck had the mufflers right after the x pipe and it drones pretty bad. Just food for thought.

Yes, that is true. Even though the lightning setups sound great, they drone pretty bad since everything is right under the cab.

I would install a pair of these. They're meant for Mustangs, that's why the inlet size is 2.25". Any tip will work really, they just have to fit.

In front of rear tire will sound better, but will be a little louder too. This is due to the length and bends in the pipes. The longer the pipes, the more "truck" sound to it. If you "have" to dump, use tips. They will deepen the sound. You really don't know how much of a difference tips really make...

they all said the right stuff. muffler at the rear of the cab, add tips if you dump it, and by all means if you can- before the rear tires out the side will sound awesome but loud.

if your going to dump it, go with tips, something big enough to allow for the hollow effect to sound best.

i bought a set of summit racing stainless steel rolled 4" tips. Cost me about 19.99 or 29.99/each. Can't remember really, but they look great and are easy to clean
