Smile Time to start mods

Well guys I been doing alot of research since I'm not restricted to shorty headers anymore. I been reading on dynotech lt headers for the 5.4. I was scrolling through two threads. Darrenws6 posted on both with diffrent answers. On one he told the guy go with x pipe and 2.5 duels after the dynotechs. Then on the other he said he felt a loss of torque with the duels and said go with siso or sido muffler 3 inch exhaust with the headers. Now my question is, which one will be best for a n/a 5.4? In few months I'm planing on getting a af1 3.5 intake (if I can find one) and a tuner from troyer or php with custom tuning so I can run the intake. I got alot of plans and I want the best setup for my truck. Thanks guys.

There will be a decrease in low end torque with 2.5" true duals, but top end power will increase. If you're really worried about low end torque, you can go with 2.25" pipes. I didn't notice any low end power loss when I got mine done.

Well I want to gain power in both hp & tq. Just don't want to lose anything. I might have to go s/c. If you remeber my old truck it had jba shortys and true duel 2.5. I didn't notice loss but gain in midrange.

IMO - the absolute best all around performance with LT's would be with a 2.5/3" y pipe and run a 3" mid pipe to a single 3" muffler. Then you can y off into a pair of 2.5" tail pipes.

^^^

SIDO's are just so boring. There's only like 2 setups that are on the same "coolness level" as true duals.

I do recommend a fully enclosed intake (S&B or Volant)

Been thinking about a borla muffler. I want a deep sound. Which one you recommend avfrog? On the intake I read the gotts or af1 3.5 are the best for our trucks.

If you can't find an AF1, just DWV/Gotts mod. your stock intake. It's been dyno proven for very good gains.

Yea, I seen both make very promising power. Just seen more power gains with the af1.

Yup...tried to find one myself, after striking out on the AF1, went with S&B

If you don't mind the stock intake, Gott's is your answer. I just like the aesthetics of a smaller intake Vs. the stock Goliath.
