Online you should be able to pick up a set fairly cheep and have them installed at a local shop. If you have a good performance shop nearby they should be able to point you in the right direction. Last resort would be a Midas shop I suppose, but there have been some less than positive results here and there.

I ordered mine direct from Magnaflow at the time in 2000, but others on this forum may have recent links for you to try. No kits, but rather a custom install where the shop installs them upstream of the 02 sensor, and ties them into your "y" pipe, then down into your new muffler of choice.

But it all depends on how much you want to put into it.....shop time can be pricey depending on your connections.

Mufflers & Tuners and Cat's....OH MY! $$$$

Well I priced the muffler at Sears and it was about the cheapest I could find, even including online..$90 for the muffler and maybe a half hour to install, so not bad. I'll see how things work with the muffler and cold air intake, if they make a decent improvement maybe I'll be inspired to try the cat thing.

What do they offer at Sears? Just as a side note...if your planning on keeping the truck for a while, (as most of us tend to do with our precious toys),I'd stay away from the aluminized generics, and opt for a stainless muffler with straight-through flow path. Did not know Sears did the muffler thing...and install also?

Just wondering, since up here Sears couldn't tell the difference between a spark plug and a butt plug!

Well I don't know what you mean by good, but I went to Sears in Rotterdam a few weeks back to put tires on my wheels, and they said they would do a muffler install when I talked to them today. As far as a high-performance shop, I think there's Broadway Auto Clinic in Albany if they're still there. I don't know if that helps or not.

Well believe it or not they do sell the Magnaflows, but when I looked at their website just now, it seems that they are only available for Chevy and Dodge, So I guess I'll just buy one from someplace else and have them install it. They do sell the same length muffler with the correct configuration, which is offset/offset..I just don't know what the inlet/outlet diameter is, the listing doesn't say, so I'll just call them when they're open and try to find out. The guy I talked to there earlier said I can buy it someplace else and they will install it if that's what I prefer to do.

Ok, thanks. Our area has more idiots doing monkey work at twice the going rate, then it has proefessionals doing good work for reasonable price. So thats what i mean by good.. Its tough around here fore sure.

I would recommend you go to hottexhaust.com to get you magnaflow stuff. They are the best people to deal with and have great prices, but they only sell magnaflow

I went to their website..I noticed they have something where you can suggest your own price that you want to pay. I entered in $65 instead of the $95 they were asking, and the best they can do is $94.85..how lame is that? It's not even worth the time to type in a price. They still have a decent price, but only a few dollars cheaper than if I get one at Advance Auto, so I'll probably do that because the wait will be less..is the inlet/outlet size 2.5 inches? As for the catalytic converters, can I just cut out the first two and replace them with sections of pipe? I was told the factory converters are high-flow honeycomb type anyhow.

Yeah their prices are pretty good too, but I think I'll just buy local because it's easier for a few more dollars.
