More shorties
More shorties
I was going to order JBA shorties for my truck this morning. Figured I would take a quick spin through Ebay to see what just happened to be there and found this

Looks like the seller is actually the manufacturer. Has anyone dealt with Boost Brothers? $179 with free shipping for stainless sure makes it sound attractive but if there are problems Id rather just pay the $408 and get the JBA's
Thanks again

If Im not mistaken, there is more to LT's than just the cost of the headers. Moving cats and O2 sensors etc. The way I understand it, the shorties just replace the stock manifolds, keeping cats and O2 sensors in their original places. If it was just a matter of spending an additional $70 on parts Id probably go for it. Believe me, I am open to suggestions. Id love a new sound and more power but I am also trying to be realistic. I also know that if money was not an issue I would be more likely to do things like deleting cats and going to a true dual setup. I have also been looking but have yet to find an exhaust shop that will make those kinds of changes. This is also an 11 yr old truck in an area where we use a lot of road salt in the winter. Though it is not rusted though, there is a lot of rust under there and Im not really sure how much longer Ill have it. Im sure Ill keep it another 2 years but after that, all bets are off. Hate to dump a ton of money in to a truck that I will probably sell in another couple years. I do appreciate the input but I have to be realistic.
If you're planning on selling your truck in a couple of years, shorties would hurt the value of it. I would just leave everything interchangeable so you can swap OEM parts back in when the times comes.
Im not too worried about resale value of what will be a 13 year old truck. I have already replaced the stock manifolds twice and figured if I go to headers, maybe I wont have to replace them again while I own it. Id like to play around with the exhaust a little just not dump TOO much into it. The headers wont hurt the resale value of it anyway. Actually what I was looking for was some input on a particular brand of headers. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them, but it doesnt seem like anyone has, so Ill probably end up going with the JBA's since they were one of the brands that was originally recommended.
