CAI Question

Just bought a CAI, i'm about to install it but I had done the Gotts mod a few months ago so I don't have that snorkel piece in there. My question is should I put the snorkel back in or just leave it out or does it not matter? I know some people say CAI is not worth it and Gotts mod is just as good but I had the money and want the appearance and sound.

I don't understand your question. If you have a CAI, it replaces the whole factory tube and snorkle and would also replace the gotts mod you did.

which CAI did you buy exactly? You shouldn't need that factory snorkel anymore if you bought a full replacement CAI.

The CAI should replace everythign and the only thing you need to hook back up is the MAF

I bought an AFE setup, and it doesn't replace everything, it sits on top of the bottom part which contains the snorkel. I already installed it and left out he snorkel, seems to be fine. Instructins do not specify about the snorkel. I also have no pics, I don't have a camera dn evn if I did I would have no clue how to get them on here lol.

I think you may have misnamed the snorkle and confused us. The snorkle is the short rubber piece that goes into the hole in the frnder. Youmust be talking about the top of the throttle body.

^^^^ Not that particular one, I got the step below, it has a greyish filter and black powdercoated tubing, with a pro dry filter (no oil). Purchased for $245. I like the way it looks and my passing power has definitely increased, maybe a little more rumble to my exhaust as well, fuel economy hasn't increased.

^ Cool. Many people report a difference in exhaust tone. Kind of strange isn't?

A raptor owner shows his afe off.
Only a custom tune will really show the true benefits of a cai.
Don't believe what you hear when you watch this.
