I believe your exhaust is just like mine, and mine has the split exhaust manifolds which go into a cat then into a second one and after that is the muffler. My current setup is like yours with no muffler, but I have both cats still. I have a Flowmaster Original 40 2.25" SI/SO that I have slid over the end of the pipe and it sounds good. Eventually I am going to clamp the muffler on with a turn down tip but Im in no hurry cause I kinda like the straight pipe sound.

I saw about a 94 van like yours that had dual stacks. he ran it out the back and turned the pipe up and went about halfway up the back and put rainflaps of it i laughed for at least an hour. it sounded good though he had 44s on it

if hes smart hell just bolt it on for you to hear. But that sucks for the person that buys that muffler. its not brand new. weird but cool at the same time

he always clamps the mufflers in place in case later on down the road you want to change or it wears out ..and he wont run the truck long enough to even break the muffler in but he will just discount that muffler to the next guy and it all works out
