problems with exhaust

i am having problems getting my stock muffler off.. i don't have any cutting tools so i just took off the clamps and tried pulling, swinging side to side, and stuff but still it won't come off.. any good ideas on how to get it off easily??

its an 01 5.4l scew with 121,000 miles on it.. don't really have any tools, and have to do this laying on my back on the ground..

thanks

I just had to twist and pull mine, but it's an 05. There was a locking pin on the pipe.

Good luck. Borrow some tools or you can try to bear hug it and twist back and forth.

Just went through this on my 09 and it turned out you have to turn the muffler counter clockwise about 45 degrees to free the locking tab.
