Exhaust/muffler shops that use mandrel benders?

Curious as to whether anyone has seen an exhaust shop that uses mandrel bending machines. I've never seen one in all the exhaust shops I've been to around here in 30 years. Yet, a lot, if not all of these shops state that they do "custom" exhaust work. Heh.

I don't want to speak for shops I have never been to, but most small shops don't have the capability to do mandrel bends. Most have stock of common angles in common sizes and cut and weld them to straight pipe sections, but maybe they are just small time around here.

It's because the bending machines are so expensive. Most exhaust shops don't generate enough income to justify buying them when most people don't know the difference between mandrel bent and crush bent pipes, anyway.

A lot of shops have press benders, and even more have those pre-made crimp bent pipes.
