I have a 03 f150 4.6 4x4 and have been looking for LTs and the only ones i have seen are listed are for 5.4s im new to fords, (im used to chevys everything fits everything i.e 4.8,5.3,5.7,6.0,6.2 all run the same)

my question is are the 5.4s and 4.6s the same i even went to pacesetters website and the long tubes for this year where only listed for 5.4s,

but the engines use the same exhaust manifold gaskets, which leads me to believe the ones listed for the 5.4 should fit the 4.6

Shouldve gotten the big boy motor. Call pacesetter, obx, and Doug thorley and find out. Also, you might wanna call edelbrock and those kind of companies and see if they make any for the 99-03 trucks, and report back to us. I'd love edlelbrock longtubes on my truck.

yea i know, last time i buy a truck cause its a deal bought it last feb for 12K with 55k mi loaded 03 heritage nice wheels nice paint job and nice seats but no ***. Literally, this truck barely makes it up the del. mem. bridge with my cutlass on the car trailer. Should have bought a superduty. But now i dont have to tow the car my brother does with his 2500HD

5.4 headers will fit the 4.6 you will jsut need to modify the EGR or take it completly out like i did.

i got a set of 5.4 4x4 headers for my 4.6 2wd and they fit fine just had to plug up the EGR tube becaue on a 5.4 the EGR is bigger. had no issues putting them in.

i can find the link i think there up to 308 bucks but well worth it.

97-03 is the same if i remebr right?

 

i think 97-98 will fit 4.6 and 5.4. 99-03 have a different manifold. i dont think they interchange. i could be wrong.

 

my buddy used his 97 longtubes on his new 03 5.4 with no probs. i think 97-03 are the same

 

was his 97 a 5.4 or is it a 4.6? they might not all interchange. they may be the same with the same size engine. but not diff size and years.

 

ah this is true he had a 97 5.4 and went to an 03 5.4. but his longtubes are identcal to the ones i orderd and they fit the 03 just fine
