New Intake - Check Engine - Help!!

New to the forum as I just purchased my first truck. 1998 4.6L extended cab XLT.

Anyway, I just put in an aftermarket cold air intake yesterday. While driving home from a friend's where we put it in, I got the check engine light. Had the code pulled today and it's a P0306 (misfire on cylinder 6). I'm not terribly truck savvy, but this doesn't make too much sense to me. Checked the plug on 6 and it looked fine. Haven't checked the wire yet, but will do so soon (they all look to be in pretty good condition).

I can't help but think it's something going on with the new intake, despite having the auto parts people tell me it has nothing to do with it. I've checked all hoses and connections and it all looks good and clean. The truck still runs well, just a little shimmy at low RPM when slowing and accelerating, this happened before the new intake. Idles well, runs well.

Any ideas for the new guy?

How do I reset the ECM? Just remove the battery terminals?

Just bought the truck a few weeks ago, so I have no idea when the wires and plugs were last changed, if at all.

Just reset the ECM, problem solved (for now). Realized that I hadn't removed the battery terminals when doing the intake install. Rookie mistake!

Thanks tarajerame for your help.
