Really just about any performance muffler will sound good with LT's and no cats. I personally love the sound of org. 40's with no cats. One of these days I'll get LT's on mine. I can't wait to hear what it sounds like then!

i have LT's with spun cats and a magnaflow 15749 kit on my 02 5.4 and if your lookin for loud......LT's with no cats and a small straight thru muffler will do it! before the 15749 kit i had a single 14" si/so maggie on the LT setup, and it was REDICULOUS. but sounded amazing. im still looking at making mine quieter, so ill be putting maggie 94136 cats(2x the length of the spun cats, so i was told quieter, but they still will fit) and maybe a 22" si/do maggie on if the cats arent enough. LT's will make your truck loud!

definetly louder. i got lt's, maggie cats and a little bitty muffler. crap its loud and have been considering a new muffler to more control it.

long tubes will make any truck louder. with lt's, good cats and a decent muffler, it will have a nice rumble and still loud when you want.

lt's no cats and straights, earplugs might be the next mod you make. jk. you would need like the 18" maggie to not be too loud and you'll still have the rumble and trq.

oh and get the ceramic coated or powder coat them, dont leave them painted like i did.

my bad, just realized its a 97. deleting the rear cats wont be as bad as no cats. long tubes will change were the cats are anyways.

Long tubes normally make engines quieter... It's the not running cats or high flow cats over stock that make it louder.

You will need a muffler if you don't want a head ache. I drove mine for about 30 minutes with my obx long tubes, "resonators", and open y pipe dumped and I got a head-ache. Maybe that stuff was cool when I was 16, but now I can't stand it.

exactly, my old truck was like that, got so tired of it. I might do some of the pacesetter quik trip oem replacement lt's and then do a maggie 18" were the original muffler was, i might just keep the cat's on for the time being. I wouldn't have any problems doing this would i?

i agree with the cats but are you sure about the headers. when i put mine on it got louder. not alot but noticeably louder. tried with no cats and was too loud. now with maggie high flows and is much better. still going with a different muffler to bring it down a notch. i still think lt's are louder...

I have the dynatech long tubes which are great and have been for 10K miles. Harder to install but better in my setup than any type of shorties would be.
