so i redid my exhaust again

well i guess you could say i completely changed my exhaust. i put took off those crappy headers and put the manifolds back on (no more leaks thank god). then i put the high flow cats back on. i ordered an h pipe from summit and went to the exhaust shop they cut off the x pipe and put in the h, ran pipes from the cats to the h pipe, changed my exits from straight back to forty five degree and gave me 2 slash cut tips. they charged me 85 dollars for all that which is a damn good deal if you ask me. but it sounds much much better with the h pipe, it just doesnt seem as loud to me.ill post a video tomorrow if i can figure out how.if anyones lookin for an x pipe i got a magnaflow stainless steel one for sale 30 bucks plus shipping.

That sucks you spent all that money on the headers just to take them off again. How does it sound with hi-flows and the bullets?

different people will say an X pipe and H pipe work better for low end torque. Still waiting to see dyno results on our trucks. X and H pipe are crossovers used to scavenge the flow from the 2 pipes. X pipes are known to be quieter, while H pipes carry more of a throaty idle and choppier tone.

That helps, I am trying to decide what way to go with my truck, I want a little more sound but more importantly a little better mpg....anything better than that 3 foot long muffler has got to get me somewhat better mpg's>>>>

yeah that really PISSES ME OFF about the headers. spend 440 dollars for nothing!!!!! and i dont want to sell them to anyone either just because they dont fit right at all. but i had the same exact set up before except with a x pipe and there really isnt a difference that i could tell at all between the two performance wise. there is a huge sound difference though. the x pipe is much smoother sounding but its just not for me. h pipe sounds way better in my opinion.

Maybe you can get a new set from Pacesetter if they're still under warranty.

no pacesetter doesnt want to work with me. they said i can ship them my headers and they will look over them for defects and if they find that this set is different than the others they would ship out another set. but if they thought it was because something was just different about my truck i would basically be sol.and this is my only vehicle the guy told me this while i had the headers on. so i just decided i would bend in some of the primary tubes to make them clear the motor mounts and the bellhousing and starter. so im sure if i sent them out now they would say oh you messed with them and not do anything for me. i just got a really bad vibe from them. and anyways even if they did send out another set why would i want to go through all this trouble of putting them on and them not workin again. its just a bunch of BS! this whole situation is very frustrating. thats why if anyone has a 4.6 you should never buy 5.4 headers take it from me.
