high temp rust-o-lium on exhaust?

I was just wondering if anyone has ever sprayed high temp rust o lium on their alumized piping if they cant afford stainless at the time? Just wondering if it would slow the rusting down on seems, welds, etc or if it would just be a waste of time.

Thanks
James

I used VHT flameproof on my exhaust, first attempt without proper prep and it started flaking off big time. My second attempt with a degreaser and scrubby pad seems to have worked, better the prep job the better results in the end. I cannot speak of the rustolium but I have used vht for several projects and all are holding up great. The welds may bleed thru eventually with rust and such, if so wire brush them clean and re-apply.

i painted my custom exhaust on my ranger with high temp paint and it has worked great at keeping rust away. i have to repaint it every couple years just to keep it looking nice but ive been happy with the results.

X2 on the High heat BBQ paint. I prepped and painted my catback system a few weeks before it was installed. Still have to touch a few spots after the winter but still looks pretty good after 2 winters.
