Installed my Airaid from Troyer last night

Took a couple of hours due to me not having the correct tools required and never having done this before but all in all, it was pretty easy. The step by step illistrated instructions where a HUGE help. No problems what so ever and everything bolted up beautifully.
I've drivin it around town and on the hwy. No drone what so ever. Actually the only time I can even hear it is under heavy throttle. Kind of nice.

That's the one major thing I'm looking out for so yeah, I'll let you guys know. The read out on the truck dash before install said I was getting 13.3 mpg.

Yes, I also installed Troyers stratagy tunes for now. Won't have my custom tunes for another couple months probably. They're backed up on those. Truck is an '06 Lariat Screw 4x4.

The milage on my 06 lariat wasn't that impressive either. After custom tunes it picked up 1-2 mpgs.
Good Luck.

Well I've driven around all day and the readout is fluctuating between 13.1 and 13.3. No improvement so far with the tunes and intake. Hmmmm

Intakes on these trucks have shown not to increase mileage...

Intakes on these trucks don't do jack IMO..

Should have skipped that step and went blown.

You guys are probably right. It's been on the truck for 3 days and my mileage has actually dropped to the high 12's instead of the low 13's stock. Oh well. I can feel a little more power and throttle response with the intake and tunes. It'll all come together when I get the rest of the stuff on. I'm not looking for a miricle but 15 mpg would be nice after all is said and done.

Maybe you could get 15 mpg after installing your efans, pullies, exhaust, and get your custom tunes. With all the stuff you got for christmas in your other thread you will be satisfied for a little bit but eventually it will sink in and you will want more power and not care about mpgs as much. Truck looks good and let us know if you do get to 15 mpg with all of the mods

It looks like he possibly got the stage 2 kit from Troyer so he probably got it a little bit cheaper than what it would be by itself.

Chipper,
I don't know where you live but the other thing coming into effect right now is that gas companies are making and selling winter blend gas. Typically you will lose mpgs over these blends during the winter months.

I'm in Oklahoma City and yeah. I heard about that. Troyer is supposed to be factoring in the 10% ethenol gas and winter mixture into my custom tunes as well.
Filled up yesterday and I'm already getting 12.9 instead of 12.6. I'll do the math myself on the next fill up to see if my truck computer reading is correct.
