I have the same truck

I had the same decision and thought the Magnaflow sounded better, But the muffler shop I used highly recommended the Flowmaster which I got and I love it. SIDO Deep throughty sound little to no drone in the cab. with dual 18" tips.

only you can decide which one is best for you and your truck

jump on your tube and check out some video's of different exhaust's and then go with whichever one sounds best to you...

if it were my truck, a flowmaster super 44 or a borla XR1

the pypes violator is a great compromise between the two, nice deep, loud, and throaty and no drone. the vid i have in my sig needs to be updated.

Flowmaster! i just got two 40 series put on my truck and they are great, good muscle sound but not over done. It fits the triton well. super 44's are the loudest of the flows so if you want both interior and exterior noise go with them.

Though the MagnaFlow I went with isn't as loud as I would have liked, I like the performance gains of the MagnaFlow's better and if I went with a shorter muffler would have gotten all that plus a louder package. I think the Flowmaster's are louder, for the most part, but traveling 70MPH+ down the highway for an hour or more and you might not like that loud exhaust so much...

Magnapacks are the only Magnaflows I would go with. I don't think I'd even use a Flowmaster ever again.

Flowmasters have a deeper tone but have baffles in the interior which reduces flow and hurts performance. A straight through muffler like Magnaflow or Dynomax will give you great sound and the performance. If you really want to make a good exhaust at least get some hi flow cats, make sure you keep a crossover like a x or h pipe and then get mufflers. Dont expect to just put a muffler on and expect it to knock your socks off.

I would say super 44, 14" magnaflow round body, magnapack, or a dynomax bullet.

Ok Truckguy24, I'm taking your advise from yesturday, lol!

I agree with the above. I have a 14" magnaflow on my ranger which I like, and had a magnaflow cat-back on the f-150 and it was not a sound I personally liked on the f-150 at all. I liked the magnaflow better on my ranger for sure. On the f-150 for me it was too quiet when I wanted it loud and too loud when I wanted it quiet. For some reason to which I still have not figured out the drone with it was bad around 55mph I believe but only happened as more and more miles were put on the kit. Overall it just wasnt my sound. I swapped in a super 44 into the kit and was very very pleased. It was deeper and a little louder. It had no drone, which I was very surprised about and louder then the manaflow. Now the magnaflow muffler in the kit was an 18" so that could be why it was quieter. I was not at all happy with the sound of my truck until I put the flowmaster on. If you get flowmaster buy only the stainless steel version, you will be happy you did. Now on my ranger the magnaflow sounds much better but its only a four banger. With a muffler the sound is preference I would highly suggest you tubing the crap out of every exhaust you can for our trucks. Also I noticed no difference with performance between stock and the other mufflers, ecept some mpg loss with the magnaflow muffler. On the ranger the magnaflow added mpg.. go figure, lol!

I have now went and bought a completely new set-up which I have not yet received but I'm excited about, the roush off road which I bought on two factors, quality and sound. Hopefully this will be the last exhaust change, lol!

I recently upgraded my exhaust setup. Old setup was true duals with two 40 series Flowmaster mufflers. Check out sig.
