If you do not want to buy the extenders you could extend them yourself, but you are going to have to cut wires and solder in a few inches of wire to get the length you need. This is where some say that the 34 bucks doesn't sound so bad after all.

He said that soldering in wires WILL not work.

Gee, could of fooled me, you just have to know what you doin (C Skulley in electrical or go here http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=7 ) . If you head over to the Bosch Sensor Site, they will tell what the wires are made of, therefore you'll know what flux to use when splicing. ~ BUT!, you better ask Darren again and ignore this post, like you did my others

You just NEED the KNOW HOW when it comes to stainless.

But why bother when Murray's/Oriely's gives you 4 harnesses to choose from on a new set - 6" 8" 12" and 14". - Imagine that... But yea, check with Darren first farmboy lol.

Hey dude i'm sorry bout that. lol But An 04 comes with 4 cats and 4 sensors. I am referring to the far back two sensors. I dont know what code i am getting I just know it is due to where the sensors are mounted. But if Orieleys sells them Ill just go pick some up there.

u are correct about having 4 sensors. there are 2 sensors in between the manifolds and pre cats. those are your air:fuel ratio sensors. never touch those. the other 2 are located either in your cats themselves, or are after your cats. they have to be mounted AFTER the new high flow cats.

There's two set ups for the trucks. This one here happened sometime after 2004 -

This one here is pre 2004 -

The sensors are all the same. The ONLY difference between front and rear is harness length. So you can purchase front sensors for the rear if that's the length you want, - or vice versa.

So I can't tell you if your buddy welded them in right or not, -it depends what system you were running.

Yes , Oriely's parts book shows length and all Bosch sensors were in stock.

I can't remember, but I do know if your getting efficiency DTC's, like 420 or 430, new O2's WILL NOT fix that problem. The O2 monitor has to run FIRST and sensors have to test good , before the catalyst monitor can run.

What you need to do is find out what codes you are throwing before throwing new sensors and money at it.

You can either purchase your own little scanner for like 60 bucks or just stop by Auto Zone and write down the codes first.

Unless you have all the time in the world and money to burn lol.

BTW- If you installed High flows and kept your forward cats, you didn't change much of anything. High flows are meant to replace all 4 cats. If you have one High flow on each side and the O2 Bung is in front. Then that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard a muffler shop do and it doesn't matter what you do, that has to be changed. Your not clear, so I'm not sure what you did or what someone else did.

Well, ANYYYways, -whether you run just forward cats -

Or just rear High Flows -

Your still within parameters and there isn't a need for O2 modification. You system just can't leak ANYWHERE in the Y and the O2's have to be mounted in proportion, -correctly lol (factory bung locals are fine).. I've ran both without problems, but - I weld my systems solid within the Y.

I replaced all 4 cats with the two high flows. He mounted them in front of the new ones. Tomorrow im going to unscrew it and see if there is enough slack to move them back there. And then call him again.

Alright, good deal, - Jegs has O2 plugs and sells them if you need a couple. -

You might be able to use a set of old O2 's to plug the open bung, if you have some. Wait, don't you have plugs in the rear O2 bungs right now?

My two rear sensors are in the holes he made in front of the cats. I went underneath today and there appears to be just enough slack maybe. What i'm thinking he may be referring to not be able to do it is because he mounted the cats too far back as where he welded them is right before the turn in the pipe to go to the y pipe. Can some other people who have had high flows installed show some pics or there setups including the sensor in the picture? Thanks guys

JBREW, I needed those pictures before I decide to delete my o2. Those pictures will help lots of people, before I didn't under stand where was the new o2 location up or down from the new cats, so that's one of the reason I decide to delete them. Thank's for posting pictures. Magnaflow Cats are worth the time and money spent installing highflows!

No problem, -I did all my exhaust work here quite awhile ago , somewhere and on line. Have you thought about LT's ? I believe Summit has Cheap and Pricey sets for the 3 valve now.

Trucks fairly stock, but I went from 19 seconds 0-80 to 13 seconds after Long Tubes, which is faster than a STOCK 3v. They helped allot and if you tune them in , -it's a 30 hp 35 torque gainer ~
