Just wanted to ask if a throttle body is worth buying for my 2000 Scab 5.4 4x4? I was looking at the MAC 75mm. Thanks...

 

I don't think it is worth the money or time to use a larger aftermarket TB unless it is part of a package of mods like adding a supercharger where more air flow is critical. The oem Ford TBs are made better than any aftermarket part anyway. A larger TB alone will not do much, and you won't be able to tell it's on there.

 

Yeah, thats what i kinda figured. It just seemed like the stock 5.4/4.6 TB's are tiny.

 

upgrade to an 85mm and ull notice a difference

 

After market throttle bodies are good on a moderately modified engine, but not so much on a stock engine.

 

if you upgrade to a larger TB you'll need to port and polish the Tb elbow but ona stock truck save your money for some mods or get yourself a custom tuned tuner
